Stacey is the surviving spouse of Gary Carlton Huckaby, Jr., PhD, who passed away Valentine’s Day 2023 after a short battle with colon cancer. Before Stacey is mentioned, she wants to remember Gary, and remind others of his dedication to his family, his community, his teaching, and helping others. He was an exemplary example of who a father should be, placing the needs of his children first. In addition to him encouraging, coaching, and empowering his own children, Gary invested in the youth of the Huntsville community through counseling, advisement, mentoring, coaching, Junior Achievement, and fraternal advisement. He was a speaker, board member, and volunteer for endless community events and non-profit organizations, never passing on an opportunity to make a difference. Gary was the founder of Huckaby Consulting in Huntsville, where he practiced for 30 years performing national keynote speeches, leadership training, executive coaching, and specialized employment and organizational development.
Stacey is the mother of their two daughters, McKenzie 24, and Sara Davey 22 years of age. Despite the challenges they faced during Gary’s cancer journey, Stacey educated herself on the best care Gary could receive locally, at MD Anderson, and later at the National Institutes of Health. She lovingly cared for him, and unapologetically advocated for him.
Stacey is grateful to have been blessed with loving and supportive friends and family who have generously helped during this difficult time, along with her loving work family at Torch Technologies, all whose efforts towards her and her family will forever be appreciated.
